Description
This fun card game is one of our favorite games for the whole family because it’s so quick. My kids will happily sit and play this one for an hour or more – round after round after round.
To play, you pick one card from your hand to keep for yourself, then pass your cards to the next person. Everyone keeps doing this until all cards are picked. Then you score points based on which cards you kept: Did you get the most maki rolls? Did you dip your nigiri in wasabi to triple its value?
If you’d like to play this game with more than 5 players, consider the Sushi Go Party edition instead.
When my second child was 3, she loved this game, even though she didn’t get the strategy of which cards to keep. In fact, she didn’t care who won because she had so much fun just picking her favorite cards and passing the rest along. Now that she’s older, she’s starting to pick up on the strategy – and her younger sister is now in that “having a blast picking cards” phase.
Note: The manufacturer says this is for ages 8 and up, but according to several other families (including mine!) most 5-year-olds are ready for this game, especially if you help them out a bit at first until they learn the different cards.
From the Manufacturer
Pass the sushi! In this fast-playing card game, the goal is to grab the best combination of sushi dishes as they whiz by. Score points for making the most maki rolls or for collecting a full set of sashimi. Dip your favorite nigiri in wasabi to triple its value. But be sure to leave room for dessert or else you’ll eat into your score. Gather the most points and consider yourself the sushi master!
This card game is easy to learn, quick to play, and yet engaging for all ages. Just like a great meal at a sushi bar, this game will have you coming back for more, time and time again!

Our family loves Sushi Go! Our kids ages 9 and 12 like that each round goes quickly and there is strategy involved, not just luck. Also that everyone uses the same set of cards that get passed around to play, which levels the playing field.

We played during our Thanksgiving break and it got kind of intense! Haha it kinda takes some time to know the sushi names and scoring but once you got it you GOT IT! You can make it fast paced or slow depending on your group.

We haven’t played it with our daughter yet (she’s 2) but my husband and I really enjoy it. The youngest kid I have played it with was 7 and she got it right away. We even expand the rules and have had 13 people playing which makes it way more complicated and hilarious as people trade hands and get confused. Great game for adults and kids!

This is a really cool card game. Our kids love to play it every day! It has great gameplay and lots of fun for all players. Great family game!

This is one of our favorites because it is one of the only games we can all play together (kids ages 3-14!) My three year old doesn't exactly win but she is slowly learning the strategy. I love the colors and CUTE characters. Some nights we incorporate a meal to go with this game- even something simple like kimbap and miso soup or green tea. We usually sit on the floor around the coffee table, Asian style, too;)

This adorable game has fantastic replayability. Because you can select the cards used in each game from a variety of clever (and cute) options, every time you get a little different strategy. There’s something fun too about seeing all the current cards as you pass the hands - we often end up grinning at each other as we realize who collected what and why. A hit for all ages. It is also good training for your littles to be able to join you later in games like Dominion. Highly recommended!

We love playing Sushi Go...for one, our whole family of 7 can play together; plus its a great game that each of our kids have learned to pick and decide what would get them the most points (and each one picks different strategies) . Great for their minds in many aspects.

This game is fun for almost all ages. The sushi is so cute and the game play is quick to learn. My adult friends love it as much as the kids!

We LOVE Sleeping Queens and Sushi Go!

I can confirm the power of board games. It’s our bonding time where we all have fun together. Sushi Go is one of our favorites when we are short on time!
