Description
This is the kids’ edition of the super popular game Ticket to Ride, with less complex rules. Your goal is to figure out the best routes to travel across America by train.
Not only will your child learn strategy and geography, but they’ll have a blast too. This game is simple enough for younger kids but still challenging enough for the whole family to enjoy. In fact, because the games are quicker with this edition, my family prefers to play this one over the full edition!
Note: The manufacturer says this is for ages 6 and up, but according to several other families (including mine!) you can play this with younger kids as long as you help them with any parts involving reading.
From the Manufacturer
Players of all ages can venture across America by train in Ticket to Ride: First Journey! With a brand-new map and simplified rules, First Journey is the perfect way to introduce new players to the game of cross-country travel. Just like in Ticket to Ride, players collect train cards, claim routes, and try to connect cities coast-to-coast. In First Journey, though, routes are shorter, train cards are drawn straight from the deck, and the game ends when one player completes six tickets, claiming the Golden Ticket as their prize. Climb aboard, travelers – your incredible First Journey awaits!
WARNING: Choking Hazard – Contains small parts not suitable for children under 3 years.

For Christmas based on your recommendations, I gave the kids Sleeping Queens and Ticket to Ride First Journey, and we’ve been playing them ALL YEAR! Can’t wait to add a few more of your recommendations this Christmas!

Our kids are 8th grade and 2nd grade so it’s sometimes difficult to find fun games our whole family can enjoy. This game is the exception! Our younger child caught onto the rules and strategy on the first round and our older child remains engaged through the entire game, even after playing many times. This one is a winner for us and we’re looking forward to upgrading to Ticket to Ride this Christmas.

This is a great family game that generally lasts for half an hour. The rules are easy to follow and a number of people can play. We bought this game in 3rd grade and still love it 2 years later. Can’t wait to upgrade to the next version!

I was SO excited when my adult daughter found this version!! We were already fans of the original and various versions, even the phone app versions, so when this was discovered for our younger children, we were tickled!!! It is fun, original, easy to play, and doesn’t take very long to play. We are so excited they made a kids’ version!!

My 5 and 7 year olds (ok and the adults) love this game! It’s a perfect way to teach a little geography through a fun game that we can all play.
