Castle Panic is definitely a family favorite. We bought it a few years ago, and I love that it's a cooperative game. My 9 year old son has never liked anyone to lose when playing games that pit players against each other, so this is perfect for us. It requires a certain amount of strategy and often presents a good challenge, as sometimes you're forced to add extra "monsters" into the mix.
We often leave this game out overnight so our only child can play by himself in the mornings before we wake up. I would definitely recommend this game to friends and family.

Family games should be fun for everyone! We have five kids, and that is one of the rules of our Friday Family Fun Night. We play a lot of co-op games with our kids — Hoot Owl Hoot and Outfoxed are really fun! We also taught them Forbidden Island and Forbidden Desert and Castle Panic. Co-op games are great for teaching kids slowly, as open hands and working together are good.

We play Castle Panic and Carcassonne with our boys, and they LOVE them both. They are 3 and 6. Sometimes, our 3 year old is on a team, but he can usually play by himself for both games.
