From the Manufacturer

Inspired by the medieval fortress in southern France of the same name, Carcassonne is a tile-laying game in which players fill in the countryside around the fortified city. Players choose from tiles that depict cities, roads, monasteries, and fields; each new tile placed creates an ever-expanding board on which players can then add their followers. Players score points by having followers on features as they’re completed. The player who makes the most strategic placements of tiles and followers will score the most points and win the game.

We had Carcassonne before the kids' version, but still love to play BOTH! This is a game that can be played to whatever age you are playing with. My husband and I took it with us on our adults only cruise! That says something! It is fun for all ages!

This is my favorite game to play with our family! We've been playing this one with our son since he was around 4. It's easy enough to understand for littles, but it isn't mind-numbing for adults like made-for-kids games are. It's also a lot less competitive than Catan, which I like as well!

Carcassonne is a great game for kids AND adults! Depending on the age of the kids, you can leave out some rules (like farmers).

We have three kids: 10, 8, and 4, so we have a hard time with finding games we can all play together. We like the game Carcassonne a lot! We skip the keeping score part when play with our preschooler, but not with our other two.

We never bought kid's Carcassonne, but our 6 and 8 year olds are already rocking the adult version!

We play Castle Panic and Carcassonne with our boys, and they LOVE them both. They are 3 and 6. Sometimes, our 3 year old is on a team, but he can usually play by himself for both games.

I enjoy playing this with my 4 through 9 year olds - you draw and place tiles, place meeples to control cities or roads, or monasteries.
